We build where the road ends.

One crew, foundation to siding, based in Qualicum Beach and working anywhere on Vancouver Island — in town, out of town, off Island and off-grid. If you can point to it on a map, we'll tell you how we get there.

What we build

One crew.
One standard.

A lot of builds end up juggling crew after crew — concrete guys, then framers, then siding — and the schedule turns into a puzzle. We handle the structure from the ground up, so the build keeps moving and the quality stays consistent.

From the people we built for

"Solid enough to last
a lifetime or longer."

Four clients, in their own words. One of them had us out on a Southern Gulf Island.

Sasha & Derick are superbly skilled and well-equipped to take on construction jobs in remote places. They're also super personable and easy to work with. I'm so happy I hired them for this substructure and deck project on a Southern Gulf Island. Their foundation work and carpentry are solid enough to last a lifetime or longer.

They provide exceptional work, and super friendly, professional service. They are a pleasure to have onsite, and I would highly recommend them for any of your foundation, framing, siding, or general carpentry needs.

Sasha and Derick took on the enormous job of tearing down our rotting deck and replacing it with an amazing outdoor platform … this amazing team and their dog Flo became extended members of our family. We would recommend them to take on any job, large or small.

The owner

Sasha Kassis.
Carpenter. Owner. On the tools.

"How we treat people matters just as much as the work we leave behind."

Wild Side is a woman-owned, hands-on construction company led by carpenter Sasha Kassis, with 11 years on the tools, alongside her partner Derick, with 18. They run it from the site, not from an office — the person you talk to is the person swinging the hammer.

"We believe construction is personal. Every project represents someone's hard-earned money, their future, and often the place where some of life's biggest moments will happen." That is why the jobsite stays clean, welcoming and safe, clients get clear communication, and the build is made to sit with the landscape around it, not compete with it.

How a remote build runs

Logistics first.
Then the lumber.

STEP 01

Site visit

We come out — by road, ferry or boat — walk the lot, check access, power and where materials can land.

STEP 02

Logistics plan

Ferry bookings, barge or road timing, staging and the season window, written down before anything is ordered.

STEP 03

Staged delivery

Materials consolidated and delivered in as few trips as possible, so nothing sits waiting on a dock.

STEP 04

Build, one crew

Foundation, framing and siding by the same people. The crew stays on-site through the push.
